Privacy policy
Last updated: October 2026. From You To Them respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it and how we protect it.
When you donate, book a pickup, volunteer or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, mailing or pickup address, and details about your donation (such as the number of bags and the type of items).
When you donate money online, your payment is processed securely by Stripe. We receive your name, email, address and the amount, but we never see or store your full card number.
We use your information to arrange pickups and drop-offs, issue official tax receipts, thank you, keep records required by the Canada Revenue Agency, contact volunteers about upcoming activities, and answer your questions.
We may send occasional updates about our work. You can ask us to stop at any time.
We never sell or rent your personal information.
We share it only with service providers that help us run the charity, such as our payment processor (Stripe), online giving platforms (Benevity and PayPal Giving Fund), and our email, website and record-keeping tools. They may only use it to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information when required by law, for example to the Canada Revenue Agency.
We keep donation and tax receipt records for at least six years, as required by the Canada Revenue Agency. Other information is kept only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected.
Access to personal information is limited to our board and the volunteers who need it to do their work. Our tools are protected with secure, password-protected accounts.
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop receiving updates, by emailing info@fromyoutothem.org. We'll respond within 30 days. Some donation records must be kept for the period CRA requires.
